We are seeking an experienced Heavy Truck & Bus Body Technician (Combo Body Person) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working on commercial trucks, buses, and heavy equipment, performing body repairs, structural work, and collision repairs. This role requires expertise in handling everything from minor body repairs to major structural reconstruction on fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform body repairs on buses, trucks, and fleet vehicles.
• Repair or replace damaged panels, body components, and structural sections.
• Straighten frames and structural components when required.
• Perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Remove and reinstall body components such as doors, windows, panels, bumpers, mirrors, and interior trim.
• Prep vehicles for paint.
• Work with fiberglass, aluminum, and steel body components.
• Ensure repairs meet safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Experience with heavy truck or bus body repair.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to work with steel, aluminum, and fiberglass.
• Knowledge of collision repair procedures.
• Ability to use body shop tools and equipment.
• Valid drivers license required.

• Experience working with school buses, transit buses, and commercial trucks.

Work Environment

You will work in a body shop setting from Monday to Friday on the first shift, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This role provides a consistent schedule in a well-equipped facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
