Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections on Aviation Command aircraft to maintain them in airworthy condition. Perform flight test and operational checks on all equipment after maintenance. Responds to aircraft related issues at assigned section. Performs inspections and/or supervises inspection in section/region. Coordinates upcoming maintenance events. The work is performed at an assigned Helicopter Section; however, employees may also work at the central maintenance repair facility or any other Helicopter Section if assistance is needed.
Creates work orders, issues parts and repairs helicopter, independently. Inspects work performed by other technicians, within the privileges assigned by the MSP Quality Assurance Chief Inspector. Troubleshoot aircraft problems and discrepancies. Repair and modify airframe and engine components. Maintains superior knowledge of Maintenance Manuals. Navigates on-line and hard back Maintenance Manuals.
Perform Inspection Sheet entries, maintenance manual revisions and record keeping of aircraft logs. Attends training courses as they become available.
Maintain proper upkeep of tools and ground support equipment and their inventory. Drive motor vehicles and perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the MSP Director of Maintenance (MSP DOM), MSP Maintenance Control Supervisors (MSP MCS), MSP Lead Maintenance Technicians (MSP LMT), Officer in Charge of Mission Support (OIC) or Commander.
