Job Description

The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in a highly detailed aviation parts warehouse by accurately receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and preparing products for domestic and international shipment. This position focuses on safe product handling, precise inventory control, and consistent use of warehouse systems and equipment to ensure products move efficiently and securely through the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately follow written and verbal directions to select products from pick tickets and put new products away in storage within a detailed aviation parts warehouse environment.
  • Receive packages into the warehouse, verify and identify part numbers, and put away inventory in the correct locations.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately inventory, identify, and select small, specific aviation parts from inventory locations while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Complete all required data entry in the Warehouse Management System, including scanning, tracking, and updating inventory records.
  • Pick, palletize, wrap, and scan orders using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain inventory rotation and accuracy.
  • Hand-stack products in a specific sequence and location inside boxes or packages to prepare shipments for domestic and international customers.
  • Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling, storage, and packaging practices.
  • Return undelivered, mis-picked, or incorrect products to their proper inventory locations promptly and accurately.
  • Transport products from storage areas to designated shipping areas within expected timeframes.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying counts, checking documentation, and preparing orders for outbound shipment.
  • Use RF or Zebra scanners and related equipment to support picking, packing, inventory control, and cycle counting activities.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and support inventory control efforts to maintain inventory accuracy and tracking.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures, observe safe product handling techniques, and actively contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with supervisors and peers to support smooth warehouse operations.
  • Adhere to the company’s attendance expectations by arriving on time as scheduled and completing the full shift based on business needs.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on material handling equipment as required.
  • Participate in 5S and lean activities as directed to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications to support basic reporting, communication, and documentation needs.
  • Read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently to interpret labels, pick lists, scanner prompts, signage, and written instructions, and to complete shipping papers, reports, and records accurately.
  • Perform various other warehouse duties and general labor tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment as a warehouse associate, including operating powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Ability to accurately identify part numbers and place inventory into correct locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for basic documentation and communication.
  • Ability to use Warehouse Management Systems for data entry, inventory tracking, and order processing.
  • Experience with picking and packing orders, including order picking and packaging for shipment.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and documentation.
  • Ability to perform inventory control tasks, including inventory accuracy, inventory tracking, and cycle counts.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English well enough to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required paperwork and records.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, sitting, and walking throughout the shift; repeated twisting at the torso; lifting, pushing, and pulling inventory from shelves; and regularly lifting 20 to 100 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling small, specific aviation parts and inspection activities.
  • Ability to pass compliance and drug test requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Warehouse experience of at least 1 year (preferred).
  • Previous work experience in an aviation maintenance or aviation parts warehouse (preferred).
  • Familiarity with aviation, aerospace, and aviation quality assurance environments.
  • Experience working in a highly detailed aviation parts warehouse.
  • Familiarity with Zebra scanners or similar RF scanning devices.
  • Experience with sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Comfort working with inspection gauges and related tools.
  • Knowledge of FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation practices.
  • Experience with general labor tasks in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to participate in 5S and lean initiatives to improve organization and efficiency.
  • Comfort working with warehouse inventory systems and basic data entry tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled warehouse within a new, modern facility that provides a comfortable and organized work setting. The warehouse is focused on aviation parts and operates with a high level of detail and quality assurance. You will work with forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, RF and Zebra scanners, inspection gauges, and a Warehouse Management System, as well as Microsoft Office for basic administrative tasks. The standard shift runs from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule. The facility offers a nice break room for meals and rest periods. Work involves standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and handling inventory throughout the shift, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and adherence to 5S and lean principles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
