Description

The Aircraft Maintenance Strategy & Planning team is responsible for producing and managing maintenance packages for all aircraft events included in the hangar plan and ensuring seamless execution of heavy maintenance visits across global base locations. These visits are scheduled per the maintenance program and performed by internal or approved external vendors.

The team manages base hold content including Maintenance Program (MxP), Time Control (TC), Engineering Authorizations (EA), and deferral items, ensuring accurate work scoping and alignment with technical and operational requirements. Base maintenance visit types include stand-alone maintenance events, ultra-light checks, light checks, heavy checks, paint, gear changes, and modification visits.

Responsibilities span four core areas:

  1. Package Building – Develop and deliver maintenance packages approximately 45 days prior to aircraft arrival, and manage the package from delivery through return to service.

  2. Aircraft Transitions – Coordinate with the NOC and vendors to move aircraft to and from heavy maintenance locations.

  3. Station Support – Prepare maintenance stations through pre-visit coordination to review scope, risks, and unique considerations, and provide ongoing support during maintenance execution.

  4. Analytics & Innovation – Leverage data and analytics to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and predictability before, during, and after heavy maintenance events.

The Analyst supports global aircraft maintenance planning teams through data-driven insights, analytical models, and scalable planning tools that improve maintenance predictability, execution readiness, and leadership visibility. This role partners closely with Base Maintenance, Project Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to support aircraft heavy maintenance through analytics, automation, and standardized reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance automated reporting and planning tools using programming and analytics platforms to replace manual workflows and improve data accuracy and timeliness
  • Own dashboards, data pipelines, and performance metrics that provide actionable insights into maintenance and project planning health
  • Serve as a technical and analytical subject matter expert supporting Base Planning team, including tool logic, data structures, and assumptions
  • Support aircraft maintenance forecasting and planning analysis by maintaining datasets, monitoring schedules, workloads, and capacity, and flagging risks or anomalies for review
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Programs, Engineering, Records, and other teams to address issues and refine maintenance processes
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc materials for stakeholder reviews, leadership updates, and operational discussions

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree or related experience
  • Engineering, Aviation Management, Supply Chain, Business, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience in program management, planning, strategy, data analytics, forecasting, continuous improvement, aircraft maintenance, maintenance programs, or related role
  • Skilled in computer programming languages and database systems (ex. Python, pyspark, Java Script, SQL, HTML, R, and/or VBA)
  • Thinks creatively and strategically with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving with internal and external stakeholders

  • Empathetic leadership and strong commitment to team progress and individual development

  • Proficient in basic tools (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn to use unfamiliar tools

  • Adept at juggling several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization

  • Strong discernment and decision-making skills even when faced with competing priorities and complex decisions

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact at all levels (including executive) and team

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Masters degree or related experience
  • MBA, MS Engineering, MS Data Analytics
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Project management or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning and understanding aircraft maintenance programs
  • Strong aviation business acumen
  • Proficiency in Palantir/Foundry
